MCA becomes Renault ElectriCity to revolutionise the automotive industry
Set course for northern France, where three facilities have shared the same passion for the past 50 years: automotives. Here in Douai, Maubeuge and Ruitz, millions of iconic cars and gearboxes from throughout Renault’s history have rolled off the production lines.
By regrouping the Douai, Maubeuge and Ruitz facilities, Renault ElectriCity has transformed from a start-up to a company with a 5,000 strong workforce, taking it one step closer to achieving the group’s ambitions.
“I am very proud to have played an active part in the creation of Renault ElectriCity, a symbol of Renault’s technological know-how and innovation, and for continuing to promote the economic and social advantages of Hauts-de-France throughout Europe.” Luciano Biondo, Director, Renault ElectriCity
Through this project, the group is striving to reach an output of 500,000 vehicles across Douai, Maubeuge and Ruitz, including 400,000 electric vehicles by 2025. The company also wants to bring together its partners and suppliers to create an entire ecosystem.
By giving more responsibility to production and increasing employee engagement, the group will highlight the skills and talent of each company member.
350 additional staff will be recruited in 2022.
Over time, the three sites will share the same managerial and staffing structures.
