Growing success for Toyota Yaris
On March 6, 2017 the seventh version of the Yaris will start rolling off production lines at Toyota’s Onnaing plant. The company has worked hard to be ready for the big day, with €90 million in investments and ten months of training for the factory’s 3,900 employees. “The Yaris evolves constantly in response to customer expectations. The design, the quality of the product we make, the reliability of our hybrid technology and the responsiveness of our employees are essential to our success,” says Luciano Biondo, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing France. Toyota also plans to expand production of the Yaris hybrid by 35-45% to keep pace with growing demand—a trend that reflects the changing habits of increasingly environment-conscious consumers. Onnaing is Toyota’s only production site in France and has manufactured over 3 million Yaris hybrids since 2001.
