London office inaugurated
The new office opened its doors in April and was officially inaugurated by Xavier Bertrand, Chairman of the Hauts-de-France Regional Council and Philippe Hourdain, President of the Hauts-de-France Chamber of Commerce, on Tuesday, June 27. Located on the premises of the French Chamber of Great Britain, this new site confirms the French region’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with the UK and underscores a shared priority: fostering a pro-business culture. With the office now open, Hauts-de-France regional development partners can meet with their British contacts in London, offering customized support, regular events and meetings. Their goal: support and coordinate UK-oriented initiatives to promote exports (International CCI and Regional Council), attract investors (Nord France Invest and Lille’s Agency), boost tourism (Nord France Convention Bureau and the Regional Tourism Committee), and foster regional cooperation in Europe (Hauts-de-France Region).
Closer than ever
The Channel Tunnel has established a unique connection between the UK and Hauts-de-France, and with Brexit in the cards, the region has become much more than a way station. Today it offers British firms a secure, reliable and efficient solution for continuing to do business in the Single Market. In Hauts-de-France, UK companies can stay close to their home office and their European operations at the same time—a reassuring proposition for organizations with plans for growth in Europe.
